Location. The boutique Hotel Rival is located in the centre of Stockholm, Sweden, one kilometre from the Royal Palace and the Old Town. The Vasa Museum and Modern Art Museum are also one kilometre away.
Hotel Features. Set on a cobbled pedestrian street, Hotel Rival features a patio and original 1930s interiors, including a 700 seater cinema. The sleek contemporary lobby offers a 24 hour front desk and currency exchange. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The oak floored Bistro Rival serves a Scandinavian buffet breakfast, and local dishes and international favourites for lunch and dinner. Decorated with period furniture and leather sofas, the bistro's wood panelled walls are covered with 924 portraits of film stars. The relaxed Café Rival serves fresh bread, light meals, coffees and drinks. The period style Art Deco bar serves cocktails and other drinks. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

The hotel's restored 1930s 700 seater cinema doubles as an elegant conference room. There are five other well equipped meeting rooms, with wireless Internet access and audiovisual equipment.

The hotel's 1930s cinema shows movies at weekends.

Guestrooms. The Hotel Rival's 99 movie themed guestrooms are individually decorated in a bright contemporary style. Rooms feature DVD players, plasma televisions with satellite channels, wireless Internet access, CD players, minibars, safes and video games consoles. Bathrooms offer telephones and designer toiletries.

From Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN):
Distance to Hotel Rival is 35 kilometres, approximately 40 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The Arlanda Express train runs between the airport and Stockholm central station. The journey time is 20 minutes, and single tickets cost 200 SEK. Trains depart from the underground railway station. Flygbussarna airport coaches run between terminals 2, 4 and 5 and central Stockholm every 10 minutes at peak times. Buses to many other destinations are also available. Taxi rank officers are available to guide passengers to a variety of taxis, including environmentally friendly cars. Taxis to the city centre cost about 400 SEK. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is in the Sodermalm district in central Stockholm. Stockholm city centre is easy to explore on foot, and has many pedestrianised streets. The city is served by an extensive bus network and metro (T Banen) system, and trams run throughout parts of the city. Tickets are valid for 60 minutes and cost 30 SEK. Some islands in the city's archipelago are linked by boats in the summer months. Taxi fares can be very expensive. Valet parking is available at the hotel.

Driving directions. From Stockholm Arlanda Airport:
Take E4 towards the city centre, then follow signs for Sodermalm and E4 S.
On Sodermalm island, turn left onto Hornsgatan and then right onto Mariatorget.
